Adalgerius Gravestone

 

That is a gravestone composed in his high part of a kind of discoid stele with entwining of branches.

The low part bears a truncated inscription :

"XVII SCI MARCELLI PAPE OBIIT ADALGERIUS"

" in 17th (calendal) day, for Saint Marcel's celebration, pope, Adalgerius was dead "

In absence of the date of death and the position of that personnage, every hypothesis on the real or supposed on his importance has no base.
